I told her it started at 7 am but because of road closures they wanted us parked no later than 5:30 am. Doing the math, I suspected I needed to get up at 4 to get set and make the 38 minute drive to downtown Raleigh from Harper and Allison&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>Caroline, who is a fan of running but not races, asked me why I would do that&#8230; why would I get up so darn early when I could just walk out the door at a more civilized hour and do a run for myself?
