Five thousand dollars apiece. One hundred twelve times running the bases.<\/p>\n<p>In running circles (pun intended), it&#8217;s big news. And the mainstream press has picked up on it too. It&#8217;s a unique marathon experience &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redsoxfoundation.org\/marathon\">The Fenway Park Marathon<\/a>. This is a charity focused one-off, an opportunity to do good while doing something crazy.<\/p>\n<p>I have to say the sticker shock of raising $5k (not to be confused with kilometers) was off putting to me&#8230; I&#8217;m so very bad at salesmanship and fundraising&#8230; Yet I must admit I found it tempting. Fortunately, I already have a race on my calendar that day &#8211; it will be my 50th event with Mainly Marathons (via their Center of the Nation series) and nets me a Day of the Dead skull MainLyner award.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.runkevinrun.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1411.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-12536\" src=\"http:\/\/www.runkevinrun.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1411-237x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"237\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/runkevinrun.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1411-237x300.jpg 237w, https:\/\/runkevinrun.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1411-230x291.jpg 230w, https:\/\/runkevinrun.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1411-350x443.jpg 350w, https:\/\/runkevinrun.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1411.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 237px) 100vw, 237px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And yet, look at this promo shot for Fenway &#8211; there&#8217;s a big giant foam mascot. It&#8217;s like they&#8217;re marketing directly to me.
