<\/a><\/p>\nI headed out to the expo this morning at Mile High Stadium\u2026 er, um, I guess technically \u201cSports Authority Field at Mile High.\u201d<\/p>\n
The stadium and seats were cordoned off but that didn\u2019t stop many a folk from ducking under the warning stanchions.\u00a0 I was too goody-goody to brave the security breach\u2026 but really, really regret it now that I\u2019m back and have missed my opportunity to gaze upon the field that Elway et al built.<\/p>\n As for the expo \u2013 it was a well attended and well-vendored affair, though at times a bit off-message.\u00a0 Cutco Knives?\u00a0 Really?\u00a0 Say\u2026 I\u2019m running 26.2 miles tomorrow but you know what I really need?\u00a0 A good set of steak knives.<\/p>\n When I snapped the photo the guy working the booth said, \u201cthey\u2019d look even better in your kitchen!\u201d\u00a0 And he was nodding this head, a technique a buddy of mine who worked a summer selling the wares door-to-door back in high school was sales pitch training 101 \u2013 nod the head to get the customer to mirror the gesture and already acquiesce to buying the product.<\/p>\n The bottom of my foot is still bugging me.\u00a0 It\u2019s either early onset plantar fasciitis or the pair of shoes I wore a few days back finally have given up the sole\u2019s ghost and messed up my arch support.\u00a0 It\u2019s not really the heel, more like the bottom of the foot, like a muscle is pulled there.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if there IS a muscle there.\u00a0 I\u2019m terrible at anatomy\u2026 and geography\u2026 and science\u2026 and math\u2026 and art\u2026 and, ya know, if the pub trivia isn\u2019t about movies of the 1980s I\u2019m really not your guy.\u00a0 But I digress.\u00a0 The point is there was a \u201cfree aches and pains checkup!\u201d booth by a local physio group.\u00a0 I thought I\u2019d have them check the foot, maybe get a massage or something gratis\u2026 only when I told them I wasn\u2019t local they pointed me to a placard and told me to take a photo and google a local doctor to go see.\u00a0 Apparently it was less a \u201cfree checkup\u201d and more a \u201csales pitch to lure you into a long-term Michael Cohen-ish contract for services.\u201d\u00a0 So I wasn\u2019t a viable fish to reel in, thus cut loose without a check-up.\u00a0 Why waste time when there\u2019s rubes to be suckered.<\/p>\n In any case, I wandered through the expo and got prepped for tomorrow.<\/p>\n By the way, the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame is currently presented by no one.\u00a0 So sponsorship opportunities exist, FYI.<\/p>\n I\u2019m still fighting this stupid sinus infection.\u00a0 The antibiotics aren\u2019t making much of a difference in the\u2026 (WARNING: GRAPHIC AND UPSETTING PHRASING AHEAD)\u2026 disgustingly discolored yellow-ish, greeni-sh, puce-ian phlegm department.\u00a0 I don\u2019t feel awful \u2013 maybe 70% of health.\u00a0 But I\u2019m so sick of being sick; so over blowing my nose; so fed up with smelling like medicine and NOT getting any better.\u00a0 As I left Mile High, passing the bucking broncos monument, I thought, “isn’t this befitting?\u00a0 Perhaps running this marathon truly makes me a horse’s ass….”<\/p>\n<\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a><\/a><\/p>\n<\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
