So… I had a bunch of plans for the weekend of July 14th but they all went kabloeey. What do I do when all goes kablooey and I find myself with a hole in my calendar?<\/p>\n

What’s that you say?\u00a0 “I curl up at home and enjoy a free day?” What are you new here?<\/p>\n

I found this unexpected kind of event a few hours north and, well, South.<\/p>\n

South Carolina that is.<\/p>\n

It’s billed as the Carolina Reaper Challenge, wherein every 40 minutes one has to run a 2.62 mile loop. Make it back before the 40 minutes are up and you can enjoy some down time before the next loop happens. Make it back AFTER the 40 minutes and your day is done.<\/p>\n

The race is named after the Official Hottest Pepper in the world (don’t believe me? It says so RIGHT HERE<\/a>… ON THE INTERNET! So it MUST be true…)<\/p>\n

I gather that’s because mid-July in SC is hotter than hell, albeit more humid.\u00a0 It’s definitely not a dry heat.<\/p>\n

In any case, I’ll get a bit loopy and see what’s what.\u00a0 Something to do, right?\u00a0 And a bit different to boot.<\/p>\n

I guess I was born under a wanderin’… and runnin’… star.<\/p>\n
