Yeah, yeah. Merry Christmas. Happy holidays. What-have-you.<\/p>\n

So I had it in my head that I was going to run a 25K on December 25th. I woke up this morning and thought, “yeah, yeah… that ain’t gonna happen.” And then I essentially had a breakfast of cookies and thought, “yeah, yeah… that probably should happen… or at least I should run SOMETHING.”<\/p>\n

I donned my running shoes and grabbed my Garmin and with a pinch of the bridge of my nose due to a hangover headache from too much red wine last night, I was out the door and into the thankfully sunny skies of Central Florida.<\/p>\n

We recently got the “Ask Sam” skill for Alexa, wherein Samuel L. Jackson will answer your typical Alexa queries. I opted for the explicit version of his responses, because really, why the f*ck would I ever want a non-explicit Sam Jackson?<\/p>\n

I have though taken to replacing my explicit curse words of late with the phrase, “Samuel L. Jackson!” So with regard to the ridiculous Republican excuses for and defenses of Donald Trump, I’ve been saying, “that’s some grade A Samuel L. Jackson!” Or when I find myself struggling on a run, I often huff and puff, “Samuel L. Jackson, this is Sam Jackson hard!” You get the idea.<\/p>\n

Anyhoo, mixing all kinds of “of the moment” elements, I decided today would be my Samuel “Elfin” Jackson 25K. It wasn’t pretty… and I wasn’t sure it was really happening until I made a final out and back loop to get to the mileage… but in the spirit of the season, you’re Samuel L. Jackson right I did it.<\/p>\n

And because nothing says December 2019 like Baby Yoda, I took a finisher photo with the loveable little guy, a true force of comfort and joy.<\/p>\n
