Let&#8217;s be honest, I run a lot and it&#8217;s not out of the realm of possibilities that I&#8217;d develop what is the most common heal pain.<\/p>\n<p>It comes and goes and is worse now and then. It&#8217;s not debilitating and honestly my shoulder is bugging me again. I&#8217;m wondering if air pressure\/weather, so notorious amongst arthritis and signals for change, are impacting me negatively as well. It&#8217;s supposedly breaking triple digits here in the next few days so there is a change in the air for sure.<\/p>\n<p>Little comfort as I continue to try both hard science and old wives&#8217; tales remedies to alleviate the odd shots of pain. It&#8217;s a weird sensation &#8212; all is well and good and then I just must use my joint\/muscles in such a way that it throbs a pain through my right foot. For a brief moment, there&#8217;s that throbbing pain but mostly it&#8217;s just kinda&#8230; there.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m still trying to rest it and I&#8217;m using various topical analgesics. Nothing seems to make much difference one way or the other&#8230; it&#8217;s a bit frustrating.<\/p>\n<p>So I went for a run anyway.\u00a0 It actually felt better 2\/3 of the way into the run but started throbbing a bit towards the end.\u00a0 I did find a penny though so it was a profitable day no matter what.<\/p>\n<p>A quandary and a conundrum.\u00a0 To run or not to run.\u00a0 Since it doesn&#8217;t seem any worse after running I guess I&#8217;ll just err on the side of shorter distances leading up to the marathon on Monday and then re-evaluate as I go.\u00a0 Seems as valid a plan as anything.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s the old saying about doctors being the worst patients?\u00a0 I think self-medicating and diagnosing runners might be worse.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m more than 50% certain it&#8217;s plantar fasciitis that is plaguing my ankle and foot.
