{"id":44329,"date":"2026-06-11T08:06:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T12:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/runkevinrun.com\/?p=44329"},"modified":"2026-06-11T08:16:04","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T12:16:04","slug":"booted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/runkevinrun.com\/?p=44329","title":{"rendered":"Booted"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Somehow, the dull pain in my right tibia has returned.<br \/><br \/>A visit to a walk-in clinic wherein I tell them the X-rays didn&#8217;t show the stress fracture last time and it only popped up on an MRI.<br \/><br \/>Per insurance requirements, they take an X-ray&#8230; which shows&#8230; nothing.<br \/><br \/>Only now can they order an MRI.<br \/><br \/>First available near me is 12 days away.<br \/><br \/>There&#8217;s one on Saturday an hour away.<br \/><br \/>So that&#8217;s what I&#8217;m doing this weekend.<br \/><br \/>In the meantime, they tell me I have to wear this boot.<br \/><br \/>Wearing it hurts more than not&#8230; the supposed isolation and fit of the depressingly brutalist grey device that feels like it came from the &#8220;Spanish Inquisition&#8221; line of footwear, causes more pain in my shin than the dull pain I had on my tibia.<br \/><br \/>I hate this. And I suspect the outcome will be similar to January &#8212; a print out of a medical journal, a slap on the back and a &#8220;you&#8217;ll figure it out&#8221; send off.<br \/><br \/>Dispirited, despondent, and demoralized as my lower leg is supposedly immobilized.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Somehow, the dull pain in my right tibia has returned.
